British politician, member of the House of Lords, Lord David Alton, shares the concerns of the International Committee of the Red Cross about the blocking of the Lachin corridor.

In an X/Twitter post he wrote that lifting the blockade must be discussed at the UN Security Council.

“International Red Cross expresses concern that humanitarian aid is not reaching the Armenian people of Nagorno Karabakh. This should be urgently raised by the U.K. at the UN Security Council,” he wrote.

Lord Alton also shared the ICRC's latest statement about the need of opening the Lachin corridor.

Armenia has sent about 360 tons of humanitarian aid to Nagorno Karabakh that has been in blockade for more than several months but Azerbaijan does not allow the trucks transporting it to enter the country, describing it as “provocation”.

Several international organizations have called on Azerbaijan to lift the blockade – but to no avail.
