The National Security Service (NSS) is checking the publications on Wagner Group mercenaries’ presence in Armenia. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during Wednesday’s National Assembly-government question-and-answer session.

A statement was posted on the Baghramyan-26 Telegram channel claiming that the Kremlin was preparing a coup in Armenia, and that at the time of the death of Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin's death, there were about 3,000 Wagner mercenaries in Armenia.

Pashinyan said that the law enforcement agencies of Armenia are obligated to respond to the reports that appeared in the press.

"As far as I know, such a publication was made through Telegram channels, the NSS is checking the published information," he added.

And to the question whether he is concerned that Russia might carry out a revolution in Armenia, Pashinyan responded that only the people of Armenia can carry out a revolution in the country and the Armenian people have carried out that revolution.
