
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani expressed concern over the escalation of tension in Nagorno-Karabakh, calling on the sides to abide by the terms of the ceasefire agreement and resolve issues through dialog, IRNA reports.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran considers Nagorno Karabakh part of the Republic of Azerbaijan and believes that its problems, including the rights and security of its inhabitants, should be resolved within this framework and through dialogue,” he stressed.
Kanaani once again emphasized the role of regional countries in promoting the settlement of disputes through peaceful means and recalled the readiness of Iran to hold a meeting of 3+3 format in this regard.
