The West wants to use the situation with Ukraine to squeeze Russia out of the South Caucasus, the United States does not care about Armenia and Armenians, Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said at a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Yerevan, RIA Novosti reported.

The Russian minister drew attention to the growing worrying tendencies. "The West wants to use the situation around Ukraine to squeeze Russia out of the South Caucasus, to destroy the Russian-Armenian bond. The United States and the EU obsessively offer their prescriptions for reforming key areas, including intelligence and law enforcement agencies, defense, and the judicial system. This state of affairs is undermining our alliance. Americans always pursue only their own interests, they don't care about Armenia and Armenians," Kolokoltsev said.

The press service also noted that "Kolokoltsev reminded that the relations between the law enforcement agencies of Russia and Armenia have the character of mutual understanding and partnership both on international platforms and within the framework of bilateral cooperation, and indicated readiness to cooperate with the Armenian Interior Ministry in various formats on the whole range of issues, the solution of which would contribute to the strengthening of security and stability in the region."

The Russian minister emphasized that the systematic approach and business atmosphere of such events allow to unite efforts to ensure security, protection of citizens, and protection of public order.
