
An online joint meeting between the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations National Assembly (NA) of Armenia and the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee of the Senate of Italy took place Wednesday.
Welcoming their Italian colleagues, the Armenian parliamentarians presented the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and the security situation of the region, the NA informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The chair of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, Sargis Khandanyan, voiced the realities that happened in Nagorno-Karabakh during recent ten months after Azerbaijan’s closing the Lachin corridor, and spoke about the situation created because of the latest large-scale military offensive unleashed against the Nagorno-Karabakh people by Azerbaijan.
The Italian parliamentarians, for their part, expressed readiness for supporting their Armenian colleagues, and pledged to do their best for keeping at the centre of attention of the Government of Italy the difficult situation and increasing pressure on Azerbaijan.
