Aliyev has ordered to destroy the monument to the symbol of Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh called We are Our Mountains. Polish blogger Tomasz Lech Buczek reported on his microblog in X.

“I was contacted by an Azerbaijani opposition blogger living in Germany who opposes the rule of dictator Aliyev.

Aliyev ordered to destroy the monument to the symbol of Artsakh We are Our Mountains.

He calls on the Armenian government to take steps to move the monument to Tatev. A wonderful place from which you can see our Artsakh,” he wrote.

The monument We are Our Mountains (“Karabakh People”), which is popularly called “Grandfather and Grandmother,” has long become a symbol of the strength of spirit of the Artsakh people.

The author of this work is People's Artist of the USSR, famous sculptor-monumentalist Sargis Baghdasaryan. The opening of the monument took place on November 1, 1967.
