During a press conference on October 4, Zhanna Andreasyan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports in Armenia, announced that 6104 children have been registered in educational institutions.
She provided a breakdown of the numbers:
- Aragatsotn: 306 children
- Ararat: 943 children
- Armavir: 467 children
- Gegharkunik: 294 children
- Lori: 315 children
- Kotayk: 1033 children
- Shirak: 216 children
- Vayots Dzor: 108 children
- Tavush: 158 children
- Yerevan: 2048 children
Minister Andreasyan mentioned that the children are provided with stationery, and textbooks are supplied free of charge.
Additionally, she noted that the student support program is commencing, student transfers to Armenian educational institutions have been arranged, and discussions on scholarships will take place, with the scholarship amount will be based on tuition fees.
The minister also highlighted that there are 1,790 teacher vacancies available. Teachers forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh can be employed without competition. Furthermore, teachers have the option to cancel their assignments and choose to work in another school in the event of a change in residence.
