Deputy of the Russian State Duma Vitaly Milonov commented on the arrest of the former leaders of Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh by Azerbaijan in an interview with Alpha News.

"If I had the chance, I would take them through the woods [to Armenia], because they are normal people, I am proud of my friendship with them. Let Azerbaijan release those people if they say they are in favor of a civilized approach. They took everything they needed, and let the people be freed.

I will try to do everything to release those people, so that such a proposal is sent to all the necessary instances. However, unfortunately, sometimes it is difficult to do things because we have both normal people and, so to speak, people who have an odious position. Well, yes, they won a military victory, I am a military man, I understand, yes, they were stronger, they could not defend themselves," the MP said.

According to the MP, Azerbaijan will not stop here and satisfy itself by Nagorno-Karabakh. "We will still see Azerbaijan's military issues not only in relation to Nagorno Karabakh, which was based on the norms of international law … I am very afraid that in the future we will see more serious steps. Their incessant statements about the so-called Zangezur corridor speak in its purest form about aggression against a sovereign republic.

This cannot be allowed under any circumstances, but I do not believe in the humanity of the modern authorities of Azerbaijan. It is enough to see at least the videos of how they shoot again from the machine guns in the direction of crosses. I can say that no believer will do that, neither Christian nor Muslim. Therefore, the one who does this is a soldier of the devil, not a normal fighter," Vitaly Milonov concluded.
