A stampede during a music festival at a university in southern India on Saturday killed at least four students and injured 60 others, the Press Trust of India news agency reports.

The tragedy occurred at Kochi University of Science and Technology in Kerala, where students were enjoying a live music event that was interrupted by rain, causing the audience to rush for shelter, leading to a crush.

At least two people among the injured are in critical condition, news website Indian Express reported.

State authorities are investigating the incident.
