Armenia's ambassador to Greece, Tigran Mkrtchyan, met with Vasilis Stigkas, the leader of the Spartans political party, which is a Greek parliamentary opposition, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Armenian embassy in Greece.

Ambassador Mkrtchyan presented to the Greek MP the situation created around Nagorno-Karabakh, the problems of its forcibly displaced Armenians and the need to increase their rights in international courts, as well as the preservation of Armenian cultural heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh, and the need for the release of Armenian prisoners of war and other Armenian captives in Azerbaijan as soon as possible.

Also, the ambassador detailed the vision of Armenia’s “Crossroads of Peace” project in the context of ensuring sustainable development in the region.

In turn, Spartans party leader Vasilis Stigkas condemned the forced deportation of Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh. Also, he emphasized the readiness of his party to provide unequivocal support to Armenia aimed at further strengthening bilateral relations, as well as to make maximum efforts to intensify mutual contacts within the framework of parliamentary diplomacy.
