YEREVAN. – The Varagavank Monastery, which is a major Armenian holy site nearby Van, Turkey, was damaged by the earthquake in Van.

In an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am, Ashot Soghomonyan, manager of Narekavank Tour Company, which organizes tourist visits to eastern Turkey, noted he had asked his friends to go and see the Monastery, and they informed that its entrance and frontal part, particularly the wall with unique frescoes, were damaged.
