The countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) have signed a full-scale free trade agreement with Iran, which shall replace the temporary agreement in force since 2019, writes RIA Novosti.

The signing of this document took place in Saint Petersburg, Russia, within the framework of Monday’s meeting of the EAEU Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

This agreement was signed by Eurasian Economic Commission Board Chairman Mikhail Myasnikovich, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, and Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, Abbas Aliabadi. The document was signed also by the representatives of Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

The aforesaid temporary agreement on the establishment of a free-trade zone between the EAEU countries and Iran was signed on May 17, 2018.
