The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has elected a new president, who is a representative of Greece and the European People's Party (EPP), Theodoros Rousopoulos.
Rousopoulos is a Greek MP who until recently chaired the PACE Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons.
The PACE president is elected for a two-year term.
In the last two years, the PACE was headed by the representative of the Netherlands and left-wing politician Tiny Kox.
