Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Thursday met with Fernando Arias, Director General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), in The Hague.
They discussed the cooperation between Armenia and the OPCW, the Armenian foreign ministry informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The FM Armenia emphasized the importance given by Armenia to the commitments established by the convention on the prohibition of chemical weapons, which was also reflected in the legislative reforms implemented in the country ever since its joining document.
Arias, for his part, presented the challenges for the OPCW in the context of recent developments, including in the context of the implementation of the mandate set by the aforesaid convention.
Views were exchanged also on the continuing efforts of the OPCW and member countries towards disarmament and non-proliferation in a changing world.
