Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyy has made a decision to withdraw our units from Avdiivka, reports Unian.

"Based on the operational situation that has developed around Avdeevka, in order to avoid encirclement and to preserve the life and health of servicemen, made a decision to withdraw our units from the city and move to defense on more favorable borders," the general wrote.

He noted that the Ukrainian defenders honorably fulfilled their military duty, did everything possible to destroy the best Russian military units, and inflicted significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupants.

"We are taking measures to stabilize the situation and hold the occupied positions. The life of servicemen is the highest value. We will still get Avdeevka back," Syrsky added.
