An enquiry has been made to the Turkish Majlis in connection with a new instructional manual sent to all schools in the country, which notes that it is forbidden to celebrate or commemorate Christian holidays in schools.

George Aslan, a member of the Turkish parliament from the Kurdish DEM party, sent a written request to Turkish Education Minister Yusuf Tekin in connection with this scandalous order, the Armenian Istanbul-based media outlet Akos reports.

The request mentions that Turkey is home to people of different nationalities and religions who celebrate Christmas and the Feast of the Resurrection.

The request also asks whether the order also applies to public schools of national minorities.
