No one rules out the possibility of leaving the CSTO [(Collective Security Treaty Organization)]; our society is also talking about it. Speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, stated this in a briefing with reporters in the NA Thursday.

"The public constantly presents us with this demand. Even reporters keep asking," said Simonyan.

And to the question as to whether this may create additional problems with Russia, the NA speaker responded: "Honestly, I don't know what problems it [i.e. Russia] should create. Attack us? Impose sanctions? What should it do? We needed protection, but over a dozen episodes it became obvious that our ally [Russia] doesn't help us. It’s about both Nagorno-Karabakh and the sovereign territory of Armenia."
