Commenting on a report by the Friends of Armenia Network, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) stated that the objective of this document is to tear Armenia from Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Commenting to RIA Novosti the aforesaid report entitled "Deepening EU-Armenia relations: More Europe in Armenia; More Armenia in Europe," the Russian MFA reminded that it was prepared "under the leadership of Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the famous main hero of the escalation of the hybrid war with Russia, the former Secretary General of NATO".

The Russian MFA noted that the "group of authors of the document consists exclusively of people who think about confrontation, the Cold War, and the containment of Russia."

"They have already invested heavily in turning Ukraine into a field of geopolitical confrontation between the West and Russia," added the Russian MFA.

They emphasized that "the main concept running through the entire report is the officially announced position of the European Union that its current leaders have created a geopolitical tool or, in other words, a weapon, from the EU enlargement policy."

"It is not surprising that there is not a single word about the interests of Armenia in the multi-page discussions and proposals," the Russian MFA added.

"The idea is to tear Armenia from Russia and the territory of the EAEU," stated the Russian foreign ministry.
