Russia is attentive to all statements of Armenia, said the chair of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs, Grigory Karasin. In an interview with Lenta.ru, this is how Karasin commented on Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan’s statement about Armenia's partnership with the US and the European Union (EU).
"I tend to think that in the context of the confrontation with Russia, Armenia is becoming an object of a geopolitical game by the USA and the West, in the broad sense of the word. This is very dangerous and can, by the way, cause very specific damage not only to the relations between Yerevan and Moscow, but also to Armenia's influence and prospects in regional and world affairs. Not understanding this is a very dangerous delusion," Karasin added.
Earlier, FM Mirzoyan had stated that Armenia has chosen the path of democracy, and therefore it strives to strengthen its respective institutions. He had added that the United States and the EU are Yerevan's main partners in this regard.
