The US supports the ideas behind the Crossroads of Peace project initiated by Armenia. This was stated by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, ahead of his tripartite meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, in Brussels.

The US sees a more integrated South Caucasus with new transport routes, energy cooperation, and telecommunications. This will promote diversified economies, expand opportunities, and promote peace and reconciliation efforts, Blinken added.

According to the US Secretary of State, there is a strong future with a region that is increasingly integrated and that will benefit people and countries. And the United States and the European Union want to help Armenia build that, Blinken said, adding that he looks forward to a productive discussion.

Reflecting on the assistance to the forcibly displaced Armenian population from Nagorno-Karabakh, the US Secretary of State noted that they will continue their assistance to the 100,000 ethnic Armenians displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh. This is crucial for Armenia's long-term stability and prosperity, as well as its regional security. Regional integration is the key to security and prosperity for Armenia, added Antony Blinken.
