These indiscriminate shellings do not contribute to the peace process and are incomprehensible to us. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said this today, 6 April, on the air of Public TV Company, referring to the ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan the night before.

"It is obvious that RA is not interested in exacerbating the situation, and seeking justification for escalation is a provocation. In the context of de-escalation of this situation, I emphasize the statement of the EU observation mission. I want to state that this mission has become a real, tangible, and effective factor in the stability of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

I want to mention the recent shelling, even towards civilian infrastructures. These indiscriminate shellings do not contribute to the peace process and are incomprehensible to us. On the one hand, we sit at the table of serious negotiations, start the peace process, and tell the whole world that we want peace. The Azerbaijani side also comes, assures mediators or meeting organizers or us during bilateral meetings that it wants to build peace, on the other hand, such incidents on the border, information campaigns, creation of pretexts for escalation.

I would like to say once again that we are trying to build peace, the Republic of Armenia is committed to a peaceful agenda. But for that we need to see the readiness of the other side as well," he said.
