The Guardian Council of Iran has approved the decision to hold the snap presidential election in the country on June 28, following President Ebrahim Raisi’s death in the helicopter crash on May 19.

"The Guardian Council has agreed to hold the presidential elections on June 28," said Hadi Tahan Nazif, spokesperson of the Council, on the air of IRIB television.
