Iran and Armenia have signed an agreement on mutual opening of their consulates general in Tabriz and Kapan. This was announced by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani, IRNA reported.

He added that Iran's consulate general was officially opened during the visit of the late former Iranian Foreign Minister Amirabdollahian.

“During Amirabdollahian's visit to Armenia, Iran's consent to the mutual opening of the Armenian Consulate General in Tabriz was presented to the Armenian authorities,” Nasir Kenani noted.
