We have left more than 6 thousand historical and cultural monuments on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, which today are threatened with destruction. One of the participants of the protest action, Armine Hayrapetyan, stated in a conversation with journalists in front of the UN office in Yerevan on July 9.
According to her, Azerbaijan has been pursuing this policy since the 1920s. She added that now that Azerbaijan has subjected the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh to ethnic cleansing, it is solving the task of destroying the Armenian trace.
Hayrapetyan emphasized that Azerbaijan is destroying Armenian religious monuments. "Three churches have already been razed to the ground. Cemeteries and settlements are being destroyed on a massive scale," she noted, saying that the protesters prepared a letter addressed to the UN office, where they pointed to the decision of the International Court of Justice for the Organization to put pressure on Azerbaijan.
