YEREVAN. – Spiritual leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia are for the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group, excluding the military settlement, Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus Kirill said on Monday. He is in Yerevan to participate in the session of CIS Inter-religious Council Presidium.

The three spiritual leaders (Karekin II, Patriarch Kirill and Head of the Caucasus MuslimsAllahshukur Pashazade) adopted a joint statement. They called to take back the snipers from the contact line in order not to shed blood anymore.

“Thus, a moral atmosphere will be created, which will bring new perspectives for the conflict settlement,” the Patriarch said adding they are pray for the leaders and people of the two states to establish friendship.

Armenian News-NEWS.am earlier reported that Yerevan hosted the session of CIS Inter-religious Council Presidium on Monday. Karekin II, Patriarch Kirill and Allahshukur Pashazade will hold a trilateral meeting.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan welcomed the session participants, while Russian Ambassador to Armenia Vyacheslav Kovalenko read Russian President Dmirti Medvedev’s message.
