US President Joe Biden is confident that neither he nor former President Donald Trump should have immunity from prosecution.

Speaking in Texas, Biden commented on the decision of the US Supreme Court on July 1, according to which Trump, like other former US leaders, has partial immunity from prosecution. But it applies only to actions performed within the scope of official duties.

The court passed a verdict only against the former president. No president in US history has asked for such criminal immunity, Biden said, adding that no president, no former president, himself, or anyone else should benefit from such immunity.

The president has advocated for large-scale reforms of the US Supreme Court. As the White House announced earlier, Biden intends to deprive former US heads of state of their immunity from criminal prosecution. The reforms imply the adoption of a respective amendment to the US Constitution.

Also, the incumbent president proposes to limit the tenure of Supreme Court judges to 18 years and introduce a code of ethics for them.
