Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is visiting Cyprus, met with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, foreign ministry of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The FM of Armenia and the president of Cyprus emphasized the importance of the mutual decision to open resident embassies in Yerevan and Nicosia in terms of expanding the partnership between the two countries, enriching the agenda in new directions, and ensuring the continuity of tangible results.
Also, Mirzoyan noted Armenia’s readiness to implement new initiatives in domains of mutual interest.
The importance of close cooperation—both in bilateral format and on multilateral platforms—between Armenia and Cyprus in the current complicated geopolitical conditions was stressed.
Reference was also made to joint efforts to further deepen Armenia's comprehensive partnership with the European Union.
In the context of regional developments, FM Mirzoyan presented Armenia's approaches to the process of normalizing of relations with Azerbaijan.
The interlocutors reflected also on the importance of implementing the Armenian government’s Crossroads of Peace project of broader regional significance and cooperation with international partners in that regard.
