The Russians who were released as a result of the prisoner swap deal with the West were welcomed by Russian President Vladimir Putin at Moscow's Vnukovo International Airport. These Russians imprisoned in Western countries arrived at the airport on board the plane of the “Russia” special forces, reports Izvestia.
The Russian leader congratulated these liberated Russians on their return to their homeland, and thanked them for being faithful to the oath.
"Now I want to address those of you who are directly related to military service. I want to thank [you] for your oath, your duty, and your loyalty to the motherland," Putin said.
According to him, Russia has not forgotten about them for a single minute. Also, he announced that he will meet with them to talk about their future. In addition, the returned Russians who are related to the military service will be awarded with state awards.
"All of you will be nominated for state awards. We will see you again and talk about your future. Now I want to congratulate you on your return to your homeland," Putin said.
