The work of the only checkpoint on the land border between Georgia and Russia will be suspended for several hours due to technical works. According to the Georgian Revenue Service, restrictions at the Kazbegi CCI will be introduced on August 6 from 05:00 to 10:00, NGnewsgeorgia reports.
It is planned to upgrade the automated backup power distribution network. In this regard, customs control; import and export of goods; passenger traffic in both directions will be suspended.
"Upon completion of the work, the Kazbegi customs point will resume its work in the usual mode, 24/7, with full load," the agency said. The Russian Emergencies Ministry's North Ossetia department, in turn, said that the border will be closed from 01:00 on August 6 "until a special order."
