India has started large-scale military exercises in eastern Ladakh, near the line of de facto contact with China, the Ministry of Defense of India informed, reports ANI news agency.
The tank, artillery, and infantry units of the Northern Command of the Indian Army are participating in these military exercises, whose objective is to introduce—with using the most modern weapons—new concepts of combat operations in high mountain terrain to the troops.
These exercises come amid ongoing tensions along the India-China border and ongoing efforts by both countries to quickly withdraw their troops from the border areas.
