More than 1,500 trucks from Armenia are in an online queue to cross the Russian-Georgian border at the Upper Lars checkpoint in North Ossetia, reports the website of the North Ossetian traffic management center.
According to the latest data, a total of 4,881 vehicles are waiting there. Among them, 1,573 trucks are registered in the online queue for departure to Georgia.
In the last few days, huge queues have formed at the Upper Lars checkpoint on the motorway from Russia to Georgia. People are forced to wait for several hours through checkpoints, traffic jams, and to cross the neutral road.
These traffic jams are exacerbated by the export season as well as passenger and truck overload.
According to statistics, about 150 Armenian trucks pass through Upper Lars every day.
