The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Russia announced Friday that a federal state of emergency has been declared in Kursk Region, where Ukrainian troops have been advancing for four days now.
"A federal response level has been established in the region. This decision was made in an extraordinary session by the Government Commission on Preventing and Eliminating Emergency Situations and Ensuring Fire Safety," the Russian MES informed on Telegraph.
Acting Governor of the Kursk Region, Alexei Smirnov, on Wednesday declared a state of emergency in the region in order to "eliminate the consequences" of the attack by the Ukrainian armed forces on the border regions of Kursk.
