Russia does not intend to ask for help from its partners in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) after the attack by Ukrainian armed forces in the Kursk Region. Konstantin Zatulin, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots of the Russian State Duma, told Gazeta.ru about this.

“No, it [i.e. Russia] won't [i.e. ask the CSTO for assistance]. It would be surprising if Russia, which is the main country of the CSTO, asked someone for help in its own territory. Who are you going to engage to help Russia in the Kursk Region? Do you want to engage the Kazakhs or the Armenians? Who?" said Zatulin.

Fighting intensified Tuesday morning in the Kursk Region of Russia. The Ukrainian army crossed the Russian border and entered the aforesaid region. It is the third day of fighting there.
