About 225 firefighters are trying to put out the fire in a multi-story building in East London, and more than 100 people have been evacuated, the London Fire Brigade reports.

The fire started at night in an apartment of a high-rise in Dagenham town. There are apartments and offices there.

The residents were evacuated from the burning building. There are children among them.

Search and rescue operations are underway.

Doctors inform that two persons were treated on the spot, and two were hospitalized.

The fire service said this burning building is problematic. In the past, inspectors had found a large number of safety violations in it. This building was covered with non-fireproof tiles, and to replace them, wooden structures were placed, which also burned, reports Sky News television.
