YEREVAN. – Cattle are infected with theileriosis disease in Armenia’s Katnarat village of Lori Region, head of the state service of Food Security PR department adjunct to the Ministry of Agriculture Babken Pipoyan told Armenian

One of the animals died, eight were slaughtered. Measures were taken to prevent the further expansion.

According to Pipoyan, theileriosis cannot be transferred from animals to humans. Besides, meat is not dangerous as well after appropriate cooking.

Armenian earlier informed that meat of the ill animals is sold cheaper to Gyumry’s sausage factory. However, farmers have no need to sell it cheap, as the meat is not dangerous, Pipoyan claims.
