The strawberries that were exported to Russia had problems, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan announced in the National Assembly of Armenia Monday.
"We have accredited a new laboratory at Bagratashen [checkpoint on Armenia’s border with Georgia], which yesterday, for example, did not let a truckload of peaches [from Armenia] go to Russia. That is, we [i.e. Armenia] ourselves will not allow such a product to reach Russia," Papoyan added. According to Russian media, a dangerous pesticide was found in a shipment of strawberries that was exported from Armenia to Russia.
