Two people have died as a result of a collision of a passenger train with a work platform in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia informs, the media report.

The incident took place where the industrial zone is located.

The train was heading from Batumi to Tbilisi.

Two men on the aforesaid platform were killed. The national railways informed that they were employees of the company and were carrying out planned work there.

There are no reports of injuries to passengers or conductors of the train.

Ambulances and police teams were dispatched to the scene.

The train was stopped in an emergency situation and the area was cordoned off.

Passengers are not allowed to leave the train.

After the completion of investigation, the train will move to the central station.
