The main priorities of Armenia's chairmanship in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) agencies in 2024 included the key domains of economic cooperation. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council of the EAEU in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Pashinyan chaired this session remotely due to contracting the coronavirus.

"The term of the chairmanship of the Republic of Armenia in the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union is coming to an end. As is known, the main priorities of our chairmanship included the key domains of economic cooperation: creation of common markets in the energy sector, elimination of obstacles in the EAEU internal market, development of transport and logistics infrastructures, and strengthening of international ties," Pashinyan noted.

According to him, among the priorities were also the development of cooperation potential and digital technology, as well as the consolidation of efforts of IT communities to introduce innovative solutions in agriculture.

"The EEC [i.e. the Eurasian Economic Commission, which is the executive body of the EAEU] action plan for the implementation of the priorities of Armenia's chairmanship at the EAEU bodies was intensive and reflected the current directions outlined in my January message. I am sure that the details will be discussed in more detail by the commission when summing up the implementation of the plan," Pashinyan added.
