YEREVAN. – The opposition Armenian National Congress representative Felix Khachatryan is of the opinion that, as a result of the authorities’ wrong economic policy, the people have reached such point that they let their infant children be molested, just to make money. Khachatryan stated this during a press conference on Monday, referring to American-Armenian businessman Serop Der-Boghossian—the proprietor of Akhtala Mine Enrichment Plant—who was sentenced to prison for pedophilia.

“This is one of our ‘achievements’ in 2011. This is the disgrace of us all. But it is the authorities who are responsible for al this,” Felix Khachatryan added.

In his turn, the ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia MP, Hamlet Harutyunyan, noted that the opposition has other domains to criticize the authorities, and it should not reach down such low level and blame the authorities for the people with a physical dysfunction.
