Political leader of Bosnian Serbs Milorad Dodik said he would support law banning the Armenian Genocide denial in Bosnia.

Republika Srpska, including Serbian-populated regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, declared it would put forward a legislative initiative to condemn the Armenian Genocide, RFE/RL reported quoting AFP.

“We want to be one of civilized states which condemned the Genocide. We will introduce the draft bill in the parliament in the next few days” said Dodik. “Genocide was definitely committed against Armenian people, killing 1.5 million.”

Dodik said pogroms in Serebrenitsa, when 8,000 Muslims were killed, cannot be labeled as genocide.

Under the decision of the UN International Court of Justice pogroms were characterized as genocide.
