Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will be in the Armenian capital Yerevan on a working visit on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Russian said in a statement.

Lavrov is scheduled to hold detailed talks with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. Talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Vahagn Khachaturyan are also slated.

The meetings will be held to develop the agreements reached at a high level on October 8, 2024, as well as the results of Mirzoyan's visit to Moscow on January 21.

The agenda includes a discussion of a wide range of matters of bilateral cooperation, cooperation in Eurasian integration associations, and coordination of positions on international platforms, primarily in the UN.

“The heads of the [Russian and Armenian] foreign policy departments will have a substantive exchange of views on regional security issues, including the prospects for the Armenian-Azerbaijani and Armenian-Turkish normalization processes. The plan for inter-ministerial consultations for 2025-2026 is planned to be signed,” the Russian MFA statement also adds.

Also, Lavrov will deliver a speech at the Armenian-Russian university to the lecturers and students of branches of Russian universities and the expert community, as well as meet with compatriots at the Russian House.

According to tradition, a flower-placing ceremony will be held at the Eternal Flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan.
