YEREVAN. - The parents of Hayk Khachatryan, 18, who died because of chickenpox on December 30, in Armenian Army, accuse the doctors, whose indifference killed the teenage soldier.

Hayk was recruited to the army 6 months ago.

Hayk’s father told Armenian News-NEWS.am that Hayk was in perfect health condition. As the relatives inform, days before the incident Hayk had caught and flu. His fellow soldiers advised to tell the doctor but Hayk refused to do so. But the other day he felt worse and told the unit commander.

“Not believing him, the commanders made him run ten kilometers. After that the boy’s condition got worse. He was taken to Yerevan’s military hospital and only then we found out that the boy has chickenpox,” the teenage soldier’s grandmother told.

On December 29, the day before the soldier’s death, he had pains in his abdomen. The doctors assured that everything would be fine but the father insisted to take his son to Infectious diseases hospital. The boy died in that hospital. According to the parents, the teenager died because of the indifference shown by commanders and doctors.

Hayk’s father was working in Artik city’s police department but has already applied his dismissal letter.

“I shall leave the field so I can fight and those guilty for my boy’s death will be revealed,” Hayk’s father mentioned.
