The world has understood that one cannot speak with Iran in the language of threats, that Iran and Iranians cannot be threatened, Iranian ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani told a press conference Friday.

"We [i.e. Iranians] are ready to die, but we will not tolerate those who speak with us in the language of threats and force. We have forced the aggressor to stop the attacks, and we are ready to continue to dictate the will of the Iranian people," Sobhani added.

And commenting on the reports that the territory of Azerbaijan was also used during the recent aggression against Iran, the ambassador noted: "We have received information that a small number of drones flew into Iranian territory from the territory of neighboring countries. Therefore, during a telephone conversation between the presidents of Iran and Azerbaijan, our president asked [Azerbaijani president] Aliyev to conduct a serious investigation into this matter. We will await the results of this investigation.”

Sobhani added that the respective information was provided by Iranian intelligence. Iran’s response, the ambassador continued, will largely depend on the results of this investigation.

“It is possible that our enemy, the Zionist regime [i.e. Israel], made use of the territory of our neighboring state. Azerbaijan has assured us that it will not allow its territory to be used against Iran. However, we all know the Zionist regime very well: they do not follow any rules, they do not observe any laws. Therefore, there is still a possibility that they were able to take advantage of the moment,” said the Iranian ambassador to Armenia.
