Iran is against any road in the region that will have a “corridor” logic. Iranian ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani told a press conference Friday—and speaking about the so-called "Zangezur corridor" which Azerbaijan wants via Armenia.

"The corridor which is called ‘Zangezur’ does not stem from the interests of Armenia and Iran. For us [i.e. Iran], this is a ‘red line.’ We have repeatedly stated this and continue to adhere to this position," Sobhani said, and stressed that Iran has informed all countries participating in the process about the unacceptability of this corridor.

The Iranian diplomat noted that Iran does not intend to deviate from its red lines.

“With its actions against Israeli aggression, Iran has shown that it remains faithful to its ‘red lines,’" said the Iranian ambassador to Armenia.

"The two regimes [i.e. Israel and the US] that carried out aggression against Iran are nuclear powers. Many have helped them, and the two contributing countries also have nuclear weapons. That is, we [i.e. Iran] clashed with nuclear powers. But we said and proved that regardless of who is standing in front of us, with whom we have to clash, we remain faithful to our national interests and our ‘red lines.’ I believe this is a very clear message," Sobhani concluded.
