YEREVAN. – “All genocides must ultimately be condemned, irrespective of which European country has started that process,” German MP and head of the Left Group (Die Linke) at the German Bundestag’s (Parliament) Committee for Human Rights and Humanitarian, Aid Annette Groth told Armenian News.-NEWS.am.

Commenting on the French Senate’s upcoming examination of the bill that criminalizes the denial of genocides, including the Armenian Genocide, the opposition MP invited the attention on the fact the UN’s 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide specifies that putting pressure upon, or violating, any language or culture is genocide, too. So, if the aforesaid bill passes at the French Senate, that would be a very good impetus for the Kurdish people. “The Kurds need to study this precedent carefully, and Turkey could face additional problems,” the German MP said.
