US President Donald Trump's approval rating has risen sharply after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, according to a poll conducted by the Insider Advantage research service.

Consistent with these data, after the summit in Alaska, the American leader's approval rating has reached 54%, while 44% of respondents disapprove of his performance, and another 2% are still undecided.

Trump's approval rating has improved among African-Americans and Latinos, and his support among the white population has almost reached a record high of 64%.

The Insider Advantage poll was conducted from August 15 to 17. It has a margin of error of 3.09 percentage points.

According to a YouGov survey published in mid-July, only 41% of respondents had supported the US president's performance, while about 55% of Americans were dissatisfied with it.
