The “Zangezur corridor” is a very important route for TRACECA, its secretary general, Asset Assavbayev, told APA, the latter reports.
Calling the “Zangezur corridor” a meaningful project, the secretary general noted that construction work is actively continuing on the 110-kilometer Horadiz-Aghbend railway, with work completed on 67 km of the line.
He expressed satisfaction with the Azerbaijani side’s practical progress on the project: “I am confident that the opening of the Zangezur corridor, which will connect Europe with Asia and, most importantly, the main part of Azerbaijan with [its] Nakhchivan [exclave], will significantly enhance Azerbaijan’s status as a regional transport hub. To be honest, I am very impressed. I would like to note that the Zangezur corridor is a very important route for TRACECA.”
