The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia has publicized the final voting results from all 47 polling stations of the enlarged community of Vagharshapat (Etchmiadzin) from Sunday’s municipal council election.

Accordingly, the votes were distributed as follows:

“Victory” bloc of parties – 10,051 votes (31.9%)

Pan-Armenian Front Party – 295 votes (1%)

Republic Party – 1,241 votes (3.9%)

Mother Armenia National-Democratic Party – 1,692 votes (5.4%)

Free Democrats Party – 1,177 votes (3.7%)

Heritage Party – 440 votes (1.4%)

Civil Contract Party – 15,298 votes (48.5%)

Homeland Party – 1,193 votes (3.8%)

Thus, three political forces will have seats in the municipal council of the Vagharshapat enlarged community. They are: the Civil Contract Party, the “Victory” bloc, and the Mother Armenia Party.

The 33 seats of the council will be distributed as follows:

Civil Contract Party – 19 seats

“Victory” bloc – 12 seats

Mother Armenia Party – 2 seats

This means that the ruling Civil Contract Party can independently appoint the new mayor of Vagharshapat without forming a coalition with any other political force.
