Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Council of Europe (CoE) secretary general Alain Berset in Strasbourg, France. During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed agenda matters of cooperation within the framework of the CoE, informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
Both sides emphasized that Armenia's dynamic engagement in the CoE, consistent joining to the framework of the CoE conventions and their implementation testify to Armenia's commitment to democratic values and reforms.
FM Ararat Mirzoyan noted that Armenia lauds cooperation with respective international organizations, including the CoE and the EU, on the path to its democratic development. In this context, the development and effective implementation of a toolkit for combating hybrid threats, including disinformation, were discussed.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Alain Berset exchanged views also on developments in the South Caucasus. Also, FM Mirzoyan presented Armenia's approaches to the ongoing institutionalization of the established peace. In addition, reference was made to upcoming events, including the participation of the Council of Europe secretary general in the 8th Summit of the European Political Community to be held in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, in May.
