The first flight from Dubai to Yerevan has just landed in Yerevan after the closure of the airspace of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The flight lasted 6 hours and 5 minutes, instead of the usual 3 hours.
The Yerevan-Dubai flight, which was supposed to land at Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport at 3:10 a.m., landed at dawn at 5:37 a.m. after being delayed several times.
Its passengers did not wish to speak on video camera, but told Armenian News-NEWS.am that they were in a desperate situation, as the Armenian authorities had not taken any steps to evacuate them, only this flight was organized, and all expenses were borne by them.
Unlike the Muscat-Yerevan flight, whose ticket cost over $1,000 dollars, in this case, they paid 210,000 drams (approx. $560) for a ticket for the Dubai-Yerevan flight.
Two more flights were scheduled to depart Wednesday from Dubai to Yerevan, one of which was delayed for several hours, and the other was canceled altogether.
